Hymn Lyrics: O God, Our Help in Ages Past

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home.Under the shadow of thy throne,
still may we dwell secure;
sufficient is thine arm alone,
and our defense is sure.Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting, thou art God,
to endless years the same.A thousand ages, in thy sight,
are like an evening gone;
short as the watch that ends the night,
before the rising sun.Time, like an ever rolling stream,
bears all who breathe away;
they fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the opening day.O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come;
be thou our guide while life shall last,
and our eternal home.

How to avoid untimely death

By Pastor Bayo Olujimi

In the light of the Bible, there is no clear-cut definition for a premature death. But, from the words of two great prophets in the scripture we can infer that any death before the age of 70 years is premature. Moses prescribes 70 or 80years for man as a mature age to die, though, he himself died at 120 year (Ps. 90:10; Deut. 34:7). According to Isaiah, any deaths below or up to 100years is infancy (Isa. 65:20). It follows that man can live up to 120years or more depending on his adherence to the rule of hygiene, divine protection and obedience to the commandment of God (Gen. 6:3; Ps. 91:16; 34:12-16).
