2019: Ogun Speaker wants more women mobilisation

SPEAKER Suraj Adekambi of the Ogun State House of Assembly, has appealed to leaders in the country to mobilise women for more participation in governance politics in the interest of national development.

He made the appeal recently during a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leaders in Ogun East Senatorial District at Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.

The Speaker said that women had the capacity to contribute much to the development of any society.

Hon. Adekambi added that women had given much support to the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration in Ogun, adding that the support helped the administration to succeed.

He therefore solicited the support of women in ensuring the sustainability of the legacies of the administration.  The Speaker said that administration's belief in active women participation in governance was evident in its allocation of 35 percent of public offices to women.
