Great transformation going round in Ogun State —Shonekan

CHIEF Ernest Shonekan, former Head of Interim National Government (ING) has described Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State as a great transformer.

Chief Shonekan said that Governor Amosun, since assumption of office, had changed the face of the state to better the lot of the people.

He disclosed this in his remarks at the 2017 Christmas Carol service organized by the state government.

The former head of state noted that the entire landscape of the Gateway State had been touched positively by the Amosun-led government, calling for more support from the people of the state.

He also charged the people of the state to pay their taxes promptly so as to enable government to do more.

“This administration means well for the good people of Ogun State. We are all witnesses to the great transformation going round in the state. Governor Ibikunle Amosun's giant strides in all areas of human lives are second to none.

“I implore you all to support this government to achieve more.  We must help him to succeed.  Our support will go a long way.  We must all perform our civic responsibilities by paying our taxes, respecting constituted authority and be law-abiding,” he added.

In his sermon, the president, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend (Dr.) Supo Ayokunle, also commended Governor Amosun's administration for all the achievements recorded so far.  Rev. Ayokunle, who also doubles as the president of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) said Xmas celebration was a special period in humanity.

He enjoined all Christians to imbibe the virtues of peace, brotherliness and love.  On his part, Governor Amosun sought the prayers of the people for his government to end well.
