We'll give Onisanbo befitting burial, indigenes pledge

THE indigenes of Ogbooro in Ifeloju LCDA, in Oyo State, have pledged to give their Oba who recently joined his forefathers a befitting burial in the town.

Prince Kolawole Ajayi Ojebunmi, chairman, Irepodun Omo Ilu Ogbooro nationwide, revealed this while fielding questions from pressmen after the annual three-day general meeting of the indigenes of Ogbooro held between December 18, 19 and 20, 2017 in the town.

On the purpose of the general meeting, Prince Ojebunmi said they always gather once a year in the Town Hall to rob minds on how to move Ogbooro land forward socially, economically and otherwise.

Also at the meeting, we discuss our development plans for 2018 and how to execute the projects.

On the challenges facing Ogbooro land, we also discussed how to support the newly created Ifeloju LCDA and work with the administrative staff of the council to move it forward.

Also we talked on how to get a commercial bank for the town because as at now, we have just a micro-finance bank which is not capable of meeting the economic needs of our town, he added.

“Also we want the government to assist us to plan the town in a modern way. We need a befitting town hall too and police station as well as a higher institution in the land.

“These are some of the things we discussed during the three-day meeting, he explained further.

Speaking further, Prince Ojebunmi said the indigenes expressed gratitude to the state governor for given the town a LCDA. He used the medium to plead with the state government to give attention to the roads in the area, saying Ogbooro to Ago Amadu road needs urgent government's attention. The bad condition of this road is hindering commercial activities around us. He mentioned in particular Ogbooro to Agbonle down to the boundary between Oyo State and Kwara, is also bad.

He added that Ogbooro to Saki and even Ogbooro to Igboho road in Oorelope local government also deserves attention.

Further still, he appealed to the state government to renovate the General Hospital in the town and equip it with drugs and qualified medical personnel.

Ojebunmi commended the state Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Otunba Moses Alake Adeyemo for his efforts in developing Ogbooro land.

He is really helping us in developing the town. He equally praised efforts of Alhaji Muritala Omope, a former member of Oyo State House of Assembly. Just as he is being commended in Ibadan, we are also praising him in his home town”.

The chairman used the medium to plead with all the well-to-do indigenes of Ogbooro to come around and join others to develop the town.

They should come around to build modern structures, petrol stations, hotels and even establish cottage industries in the town.

“To the youths, I will just advice them to steer clear of any violent act and always behave responsibly.

He praised the efforts of the Youth Leader, Mr. Azeez Lami for the great work he is doing in guiding the youths.
